The Shawbury Paws Story

Growing up on a farm, Emma has always been a lover of animals, but nothing has came close to the love of dogs. After securing a work from home job, Emma finally fulfilled her dream of getting a dog. Enter Ted, a friendly Miniature Schnauzer with a serious looking face, but bursting with personality.

When it came to looking for someone to care for Ted, we had a large list of requirements. Kennels were out of the question, we wanted a home from home feel where he would be safe and happy. We went through many dog carers trying to find one that fit all of our criteria, but nothing came close.  After speaking to other dog owners, we realised we weren't the only ones struggling. Below are just a few of the issues we faced in finding the perfect care:

- Too many dogs at one time
- Space not adequate or unclean
- Young children in household
- Unlicensed / illegally trading
- Aggressive dogs taken

- Positive reinforcement not used
- No enrichment activities provided
- Too few picture and video updates
- Dogs left alone
- Not insured for activities

So after moving to Shropshire in early 2019, we set out to create a home from home experience with a difference. Set in five acres of countryside, a purpose built outdoor doggy play area, indoor play room and enrichment program catered to your dogs breed, age and medical requirements. We carefully designed every aspect of Shawbury Paws to meet standards we would want our own dog looked after in.

We hope you love the Shawbury Paws service as much as we do.
